The Beautiful, Together project had two new coordination meetings, one on Nov 20th and the second one today, on December 11th.
On Nov. 20th we had an introduction on how to use sense-maker to collect learnings and experiences related to works of art in public spaces. The meeting was held in SLRB's premises with members of different departments of the SLRB's team, of Housing Europe, Creative District and Livepods.
We are evaluating how to include sense making exercises in the 101% project and in an initiative run by the Creative District that is organizing artistic workshops in various residential areas of Brussels and is currently in the phase of implementation.
The outcomes of the meeting:
- On the adoption of the sense-maker methodology, we will have a half-day meeting in January with selected social housing companies (SISPs) who could be interested to introduce the methodology as part of their engagement activity for the ‘collective 101%’ programme. We will hopefully have one or two demo cases to work with.
- We work on a proposal for a satellite event during the NEB Festival.
- A new working session with Creative District for possibilities to introduce sense-making activities.
Today we discussed about four options to use the sense-maker in the context of Creative District's activities:
1. A pilot within the Innovation for Society group, related either to the use of the co-working space or to the experiences of the 13 partners in their work with social entrepreneurship and social housing. Aside from being a demo, the result may also be useful to improve the co-working experience.
2. A pilot in a formal/informal event organized by Creative Society. Since the event could be organized as a satellite event of the NEB Festival, we will be working on the proposal for a satellite event which also includes activities from livepods (i.e. a workshop on the use of the sensemaker and of other facilitation techniques for strategic thinking that start from sharing stories, like constraint mapping)
3. A pilot within any of the projects run by the members of the Innovation Society (this depends on the success of 1)
4. A pilot for the "mon talent - mon future" project. If successful, the pilot could be the starting point for an EU project that focuses on improving the life and experience of young tenants of social housing.
Timeframes:
1. A work session to define the pilot could ideally be set up before Christmas.
2. A draft proposal will be prepared by me, for review, by Friday
3. In standby
4. A meeting with the coordinators with a targeted presentation of the Sensemaker can be scheduled ideally for January, or as soon as convenient.
In addition, this month we inaugurate the DAO platform for the Chapter, which allows distribute decision making while enabling us to recognize the different forms of value exchanged in the chapter.
